North Orange County Community College District Kids' College & Teen Program
The NOCCCD provides a non-credit enrichment program for AUHSD students.  Classes are offered at four locations in Anaheim, Fullerton, Cypress, and Yorba Linda.  These classes provide a more affordable option than private tutoring for students who may need extra help with Math and English. North Orange County Regional Occupational Program (ROP)
The North Orange County Regional Occupational Program is an accredited
career-technical training program. Each year the program serves more than 25,000 high school students and adults. Classes are taught in 25 high schools, five centers and more than 600 local businesses, hospitals, offices, restaurants, day-care centers, and other places of employment. Student can earn high school credit and gain technical experience and/or career knowledge.  For a list of available classes, please visit the  website.  Students should see their counselor in order to register for classes.  
 
Cerritos/Cypress/Fullerton College
Through the Special Admit program, students in grades K-12 students can attend Cypress or Fullerton College for free. This program is designed primarily for students seeking an enrichment opportunity in advanced scholastic or vocational work at Cypress College; all students must follow the instructions for Special Admit students based on the college they wish to attend and see their Counselor for approval.  View the Schedule of Classes to determine which courses are available.

Tiger Woods Learning Center
Students in grades seven (7) and eight (8) have an opportunity to participate in the Career Exploration program.  Choose from courses related to Aerospace, Graphic Design, DNA Lab, Home Design & Repair, Robotics, Communications, Engineering or Universal Science.  
The Career Preparation program is open to high school students (grades 9 - 12).  Students can choose from courses in Aerospace, Communications, Digital Manufacturing, Multimedia, Robotics, Universal Science or Engineering.  Once you determine your career interests, you will be matched with a volunteer career mentor to give you an inside look into your future.  
Both programs run Monday - Thursday from 2:30pm - 6pm. Students interested in applying should see their counselor or download and submit the application directly to TWLC. For more information visit  http://www.twlc.org/exploration.html.

Cal State Dominguez Hills Young Scholars Program:
The Cal State Dominguez Hills Young Scholar Program offers high school juniors, seniors, and community college students with a B average of better an opportunity to earn up to 9 units of college credit by enrolling in one or two distance learning courses for $3.50.  If you are interested in learning more about theses classes, visit the  website or call Joycelyn Jones at 310.243.2288.
 
 
Volunteer Opportunities
 The Volunteer Center of Orange County has many different opportunities for students.  For a complete listing, visit the website.
Special Sitters:  Linking children with special needs to teens with special training  Please call Marilyn Bauer at 714.547.5200 x41 or email  marilyn@campfireusaoc.org to register or for more information.  All Special Sitters must undergo training which includes CPR and First Aid Certification, communication skills, responsive play, behavior management, and employment opportunities.  Training costs $50 and meals are included.  Students must be at least 13 years old to participate.

The Anaheim YMCA has volunteer opportunities for students ages 14 and up.  Visit the website for more information and an application packet.
 
Cypress Library will need volunteers in Mid-May for the Summer Reading Program. The program runs from May to August and will involve reading to younger students.   For more information, please contact Patsy Langevin, Volunteer Director at 714.826.0350.

The Boys & Girls Club in Anaheim ( 311 E Broadway, Anaheim, 92805) is looking for volunteers at this time. Students will tutor, play board games, play ball, etc. Please contact Alfredo Santana at 491-3617 for more information.

City of Cypress Senior Center is looking for volunteers to help deliver meals, teach classes, entertain seniors, provide office support and help prepare commodities.  If you are 16 years or older and would like information on volunteering, please call Cypress Recreation and Community Services at 714.229.2005.  Applications are also available in the Counseling Center.

Teen Connections Friendly Visitor Program is designed to link high school students with older, isolated adults and persons with disabilities residing in Long-Term Care facilities.  Please visit the  Orange County Council on Aging for more information.

Trauma Intervention Program (T.I.P.):  Become part of a team of well trained volunteers who are called by emergency personnel to provide support to emotionally traumatized citizens on a 24-hour 365-day a year basis. Students ages 16-21 can volunteer as a  TIPTeen.   .

New Hope Teenline:  Juniors and seniors interested in helping others as a Teen Counselor must go through a six week training class.  Classes are held on the Crystal Cathedral Campus (12141 Lewis Street (Tower of Hope/3rd Floor, Garden Grove, 92840) and begin on Sunday, January 31 from 2pm - 5:30pm.  For more information, please contact Kristine Macalma at 714.971.4301 or email kristinem@crystalcathedral.org.
